It hangs about 1/4 inch past each end of the shield. It's already sagging like alot of people talk about but I will try to fix that soon. Also the small right hand pouch is pinched between the shield and the master cylinder. It can still be used but it's difficult to open and close. I use that one to hold items that are not needed often. UPDATE; solved the sagging problem by cutting the seam open on one end of the backing piece, then taking a piece of aluminum of the right height and width for the backing and sliding it in. Holds my wallet and Cell Phone in the center pouch. Only problem the plastic insert warped because of the Texas heat. Still a good windshield pouch. It mounts on the lower end so I hope the pouches don't start to slouch. The fake leather seems a little cheap. I took off the funky conchos. I hates conchos....
