(2 stars) reviewed on 06/05/05 byBill McCoy (wmccoy548) from Blythewood, SC, US, for a 1997 Stock Customized 1500 Valkyrie Standard wrote: Quite easy to install for us fat finger mechanics. With my limited expertise in reading wiring diagrams along with the supplied manual (which is not sequential) I was able to hook this item up in about 30 minutes. Works fine. Doesn't have the loud "click click" sound of the traditional blinker system but works smooth just the same. Does have option to have 10, 15 or more blinks with a quick dip switch modification. I like the "running lights" piece of it which makes your lights work when riding but brighten up when working signals and braking. Good stuff. Update on this product (Nov 2011) I've removed this little bugger from the bike. Found it was unreliable after a while--not sure it is the product as much as my suspicion. Returned my bike to the hardwired method, signal has to be put back manually at the handlebar. Review Details 4 out of 4 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

I guess there's a safety factor too, but cars will be cars and they're going to pull out in front of you anyway. Required some modification to make it work better...used this site as a reference: http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/Tech_Tips/Installing_Kisan_Products/installing_kisan_products.html Review Details Was this review helpful to you? (5 stars) reviewed on 09/08/04 byJay (vernooy) from Bradenton, FL, for a 1999 Black and Chrome with 35 chrome doo-dads 1500 Valkyrie Standard wrote: I bought the SM3 from Cruiser Customizing.com who had the best price that I could find and they shipped it the same day. Great service guys. I installed the unit with all the options and it seems to do what it is suposed to do. I had to cut the return springs to work correctly. When you cut, only take a little, because it is easy to go back and cut more if needed. I am having a little trouble getting the 4 ways to work, sometimes you have to flick the switch more than 4 times to the right in order to operate this feature. I also sealed the unit in a plastic bag because the extra ports for the Vectralights would allow moisture to get in the unit. Up date: I cut the springs a little more and now the 4 ways work great..Also, the Escort feature is cool, lights alternately flash like a school bus. No, it is not an automatic turnsignal canceling device. It's a safety-device that prevents you from riding around with a merry blinking turnsignal without no intention to make a turn whatsoever. That's what it does and it does it flawless. But when the Signalminder has stopped the blinking of your turnsignal, you still have to push the button to get things working again. Sounds a little confusing isn't it? Anyway, I can recommend this product, you won't feel sorry for buying it. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful.
