I think throttle response may be improved and there is certainly decreased popping/backfiring from my modified pipes, presumably because the mildly increased air flow means less unburnt fuel. Of course the real advantage is the million mile guarantee and never having to buy another air filter, and for that alone it's worth the money. Plus you get to put a K&N sticker on your bike... Felt like the bike couldn't get enough air in it's lungs before. I also drilled out some additional some holes on the backside of the air box to bring in more air. I had already opened the back of air box, that increased low end power, adding the K&N filter with the stock cover just makes it all work together.
