The size is just right for a Roadstar. There is a video on youtube which gives step by step instruction on installation and gave a good idea about marking the drilling locations for the bag to make sure both sides match. The brackets matched my bike perfectly. I had wrecked my bike years ago and replaced the stock bags with throwovers. I finally replaced the throwovers with these and am extremely glad I did. I just wish I had done it a long time ago. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(5 stars) reviewed on 01/21/11 byKarl (KMESSER) from Canton, MI, United States, for a 2006 Black 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: What a great bag very solid and well put together. I have the non-studded ones in the next size up. Talk about room in a saddle bag each one is 33 liters and looks great on the larger cruisers. Be sure to take your time when mounting them on easy brakets or the edge equivalent, and use a template to save time. I had to purchase them from another vendor because I wanted the larger size. The price for this bag on Cruiser Customizing is perhaps the most competative one I have seen for this bag. If you are looking for more room in a bag you found it. (08 VTX1800N)I tried the other guys but always found myself wanting more. Not the case with these bags. These bags are super durable and combined with the Edge Brackets I challange anyone to find a better combination for the money anywhere. The studs look good and these Tek Leather wrapped hard bags are much easier to care for than leather, they look great, and will last for many years. I see no way that these bags can loose their shape due to their superior construction technique. These bags are a keeper for sure. This model (104) opens toward the front of the bike and has the quick release snap on the rear of the bag. There is also velcro around the entire top of the bag. The front hinge is strong and the easy to use quick release snap on the rear of the bag is definately top shelf construction. Stop messing around and get yourself a real set of saddle bags. Once you move up to these bags you will ... Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(5 stars) reviewed on 12/18/09 by(bonesroadstar) from , , for a 1600/1700 Road Star wrote: The web site photos don't do these saddlebags justice, they're much wider than they appear to be in the photos. These are the saddlebags you want to fit your Roadstar Supercruiser properly. Bags which would fit a smaller Harley nicely won't look good on a Roadstar, the Roadstar needs these supersize bags to look proportional. With the KY-5353 Edge brackets they hang low enough to look perfect. The thick velcro on the lids by the bracket locks makes it a little difficult to insert the key if you have large hands so let the wife unlock them or open the lids first. Quality is superb and they are more durable than leather and you can't tell the difference. They're better than any $1,000 leather bags! Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
