They vibrate more than the stock mirrors. Definitely add a custom look to the bike. Glad I got them. The only real problem that I had were the surprisingly lame instructions that came with them . Kuryakyn must be aware of this complaint, but has done nothing about it. So here is what Kuryakyn doesn't tell you: In order to adjust the swivel tension, you must first loosen two screws on the back of the mirror with a small allen key (not included with hardware), and then remove the back of the mirror head. Next you need a slightly larger allen key (included with the hardware) to adjust two screws located inside the mirror head on either side of the swivel ball. Tightening the screws equally pulls an internal backplate harder against the swivel ball. What Kuryakyn fails to point out, among other things, is that if you loosen the screws too far, the backplate can become separated and drop into its housing. The adj... However, the instructions were a little vague on the lens adjustment...they included a 1/8" allen wrench to adjust the tension, but no 1/8" visible allen bolt or instructions! It turns out the adjustment is 'inside' the lens assesmbly, and you need another allen wrench to remove the backing...LOL! They really look nice on the bike, though...match my ISO grips quite well. (2 stars) reviewed on 07/11/03 byVZDOG (VZDOG) from Orchard Park, NY, United States, for a 800 Marauder wrote: Nice looking mirror - a couple of minor imperfections in the chrome and more disturbingly - the glass. Right hand mirror glass fell out of the frame before I even had it installed (right out of the package) Had to glue. Didn't take long to install. Great looking - good visibility and adjustment - minimal vibration, but disappointing quality for the money spent. Review Details 9 out of 9 members found this review helpful. (3 stars) reviewed on 08/19/02 byMcGruder (AutomationBPInc) from Joppa, MD, United States, for a 800 Marauder wrote: These are sharp looking mirrors, but you lose a bit on the functional side. There is a good bit of vibration introduced. The convex quality of the mirror compensates for the smaller surface area of the mirror. The light tinting of the mirror is in good taste. The mirror articulates nicely and appears to be secure once it is adjusted to the desired view. Overall, high marks on appearance, but low to average marks on functionality. Smaller than originals, and vibrates slightly more. The Maurader has adaptors on the original mirror which allow for a more radical angle. These sit above my knuckles but the clearance can be adjusted by changing the angle of the adaptor. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
