They have reverse threads and locking nuts that are very difficult to adjust. When trying to tighten the mirrors in the right position, there are two nuts (one on top of the other) and unless you have a thin metric wrench it is hard to hold one nut while tightening the other. After much effort I did get them mounted. The metal isn't the best quality so the nuts were chipped up. Overall the quality isn't there. But if you want some inexpensive mirrors that will look good for awhile, go for it. For me, I pitched them and put the stock mirrors back on. Dressed up the bike nicely and got rid of those dog-earred stock mirrors which I hated. Price was much better than the Yamaha Star accessories.
