Somewhat limits the the space between the floorboard and the stock toe shifter. Big boots are difficult to get toe under to shift, so it's a good thing to have the heel shifter as a backup. Very well made and heavier than I thought they would be. Only down side is the aftermarket heel shifter cover no longer fits as the board is longer and the cover stops the shifter from being able to go down. Had too adapt the shifter cover to sit on top of the bare shifter and slightly back. Just drilled holes in the flat part of the heel shifter and bolted the assembled cover to it. Used the original rubber cover to fill the inside of the aftermarket cover to keep the rubber inserts in place. I can take pics if anyone needs to see what i did. The basic design and install was not a problem and fairly easy to understand. However, the screws were too long for my floorboards. The intructions said to get rid of the old washers and just use the washers provided with the packaging but with just the provided washers the screws did not seat firmly against the floorboard and I was concerned they would move around a bit. Actually, while tightening them down, I over-tightened one and it popped through on the board top. It is barely noticable so not a huge deal but for the install fo the second one I used the original washers as well as the provided ones and this allowed enough space to be tightened down well. Once it was on the look good and allow a little more space to stretch out. Nice looking and inexpensive. I would like to add the clamshell cover for the heal shifter though and it seams l... I'll have to adjust to having the rear shift pedal so close to the board though. I tend to not strike it sufficiently with my heel and I wind up just putting it in neutral. This doesn't happen when I think about it as I'm doing it though. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
