Ok. So I purchase these in May of 2008, and about a year after the zippers failed. It' now almost 2 years later and they no longer hold their shape well. The lid zippers have completely failed and they in no way keep water out. Go figure. The rain guards are ok at trying, but in a good rain, they don't seem to do much. After intially buying them and putting them on without saddle bag supports; I highly recommend getting bag supports. I know they sell these as "throwover bags" but they end up etching your fender, wearing holes in the material where ever they shift abit. I might still buy these again, because I loved that they expanded, but I wish they made them with durable zippers, like metal or somthing. The current one suck... They do look good though when new.

Overall a nice and clean looking bag. It is a throwover style. They are alot blacker than any picture I've seen makes them look. If you are mounting under seat, it can give you alittle headache. My reat bolt wasn't long enough due to the overlap of double velcro pad"little thich". I took out my rubber spacers and moved it forward. I do love these, especially since I don't have to mount hardware. It may rub my fender paint a bit, but I plan on painting later. Great Value. Truly a personal decision. I'm sure leather bags would have looked great too. I picked mine up on ebay through carparts. Bikerhaven had them too for 159 everyone else was 199. 8/11/08 update. Still love them; but I do have to say that they do relax quite abit. But I use them everyday and love that they expand. Kind of adds a not so absolutely crisp look. Looks great since I ride like everyday and keep my bike pretty darn clean. Lots of compliments on these... YES!!! great bags
