Replaced the 55W watt bulbs in the light bar I purchased with 35 watt bulbs. If you browse the VTX Oners Association webpage(http://www.vtxoa.com/) you'll find many that experienced problems trying to run 55W bulbs. Hondaline light bars for the VTX have 35 watt bulbs - probably a hint.

They were nice and bright, but they drew too many watts for my bike. So I replaced them with LED lights.

Fits my Cobra lightbar's spotlights - don't get a 55w bulb, you need to stick with 35.

Installed a pair of the Xtreme White H3 Bulbs from PIAA (Kury #2214) that are a great upgrade to my Kawasaki 35w driving lamps on my VN1600A. These lamps provide a brilliant extreme cool white light rated at 4150K to complement my main headlamp. These Xtreme White H3 bulbs use 35w but put out light close to 70w. The bulbs give off a blue hue too. While expensive, more light ia always good! After driving with them the first time, now I have to have the matching Xtreme White H-4 main headlamp bulb. Much whiter light! 11/05 - A word of caution, make sure you wrap electrical tape or shrink tubing to cover any exposed part of the blade connector on these bulbs. I had intermittent electrical gremlins and found that the blade connector was shorting out against the metal driving light case on my Kaw OEM light bar. Stupid me!
