This does not lock the throttle at all - it simply allows you to not have to grip the handle as tight as you can maintain speed easier as it sits against the palm of your hand. It was easy to put on (I have Kuryakyn grips already). I had trouble getting my cap off of the left grip but I think maybe the shop that installed my grips glued the whole left grip on(?). Matches my ISO grips perfect. Takes a little troubleshooting to get the right positioning, but once you get it in place you wonder how you ever twisted your throttle without it.
