It's more show than go, as far as the scoop goes. I am typically pullling enough vacuum that the butterflies rarely do more than crack open. BUT, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the big improvement in airflow provided by the total Hypercharger kit kicked the ol Roadie up more than a few notches! I don't typically crank on it so I didn't realize the difference until I took a trip over the mountains. Usually I had to crank the throttle up quite a bit to get the wife and I over the tops and maintain speed. With the Hypercharger in place I gave it the same old crank, but this time the bike really acellerated up the mountain! Oh yeah! It works!

When jetting the carb I found that the main jet recommended in the Roadbike Mag was not stated. Although I did try Fuel needle 4th groove w/ the 185 main. The result was a rich mixture w/ poor gas mileage. As in the instruction from Kuryakyn did not list which main jet & needle groove to be use w/ the Vance & Hines Longshots HS. I therefore consulted w/ Kuryakyn whom recommended to use the 182.5 main jet w/ the clip in the 2nd groove. I discovered that stock main jet was a 182.5.Highly recommended. It gave my star main awesome sound w/ a boost in power that KN is notorious for. Note* my adjustment is recommended @ sea level. PLease consult w/ Kuryakyn for your specific location. You should also purchase Baron's ajustable air mixture idle screw for easy adjustments.

I love it. Gives an Agressive look. directions for the jet kit it came with were vague at best. Less than one season on the bike the Mounting bracket Snapped right at one of the bends. Not very happy with that.

Looks great, I can feel it with my leg, but not a problem, I did this with an exhaust system and jet kit....the results were dramatic....I don't know which item was more effective because they were both done at the same time....The torque improvement on low rpm acceleration is fantastic ! I did not install myself.

Excellent buy. Tricky install for a gumby like myself. Had a mechanic mate fit it. Looks good and more importantly made a difference on bottom end power.

looks great. I was able to install it myself. which is really good for a dumb ass like me. took a couple of goes but I was able to do it. I had the local garage rejet my carb. On performance I definitely get into open space when stuck between two vehicles at lights. Might invest in a tacho

Quite possibly more show than go. There is enough vacuum with my Roadie that the butterflys are barely open under most running conditions. The only time they are open fully is under WOT, which is rarely if ever. I think I pull more air through the rain drain that through the butterflys. I think it would be helpful if Kuryakyn included a spring kit to overcome some of the vacuum and allow the butterflys to open wider under normal highway cruising conditions. Nevertheless, there is definitely more airflow through my 1700. I noticed it mostly when climbing a steep hill: When I gave it the usual amount of throttle to maintain speed, the Roadie actually accellerated quite a bit. I was impressed. I don't know if it was due tio the Hyper Charger, the K&N filter, the re-jetting, or a combination of all. But it really accellerated up that steep hill! The addition of a set of Vance & Hines Longshot HS pipes let it breathe much better and now the Roadie flys. Does the Hyperch...

It looks good on the bike and was not that hard to install It works really good and no hesitation on excellerate, I thought about having the dealer to install it but when we called and we found out they wanted 300.00 to install it, We thought twice and spoke to a friend and asked what he thought and he said the instructions were very good and we should have no trouble doing it ourselves , so we decided to give it a shot and he was right we didnt have any trouble and saved 300.00 on installing it. It took us about 4 hours to install it.
