I bought it to use on the left side of the bike to fill the void where the OEM air filter cannister used to be. Right now I have the Kury V-shield horn cover and I like the looks of it but am curious to see how it holds up under vibration from the bike. The V-shield is mounted with two brackets that are joined by a bolt and it does seem to be potentially prone to loosening. If that happens I am ready to mount this breather filter as (Keber) suggested. Actually, this may look better than the V-shield and I might try it to evaluate the two of them. They both mount easily. I put this on the left side purely for cosmetic reasons right above, and on the same bolt, as the stock horn. It looks very cool and brightens up the left side. Pics coming soon!! (5 stars) reviewed on 02/23/05 byDave (keber) from Spokane, WA, United States, for a 2003 1600 Vulcan Classic wrote: I bought an identical one marketed by Drag Specialties from my local Harley dealer for $12.99 and a package of vacume caps to cap off the fitting on the back of the Thunder Air kit. I mounted it between the cylinders on the left side or the engine, utilizing the bolt on the rear cylinder that held the stock air intake bracket. It's the perfet place to install it and it looks great in that spot. Just swing the breather tube over to the left side and snip off the 90` angle on the end of the hose and plug it into the back of the filter. No need to re-route the hose or anything. It's about a 15 minute job, is inexpensive, looks good and keeps any oil residue that may blow back up the breather hose from soiling your air filter. Wanted to get the dirty air out of the air cleaner. Did a Caddmann mod, so time to do this also. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 12/11/04 byDarcy Owen (darcowen) from seogwipo, CA, Africa, for a 2003 1600 Vulcan Classic wrote: Finally installed it. Just mounted it using the old mounting hardware from the left side air cover. Really easy to do. Cut the hose a little for better fit after pulling the hose up and over the cylinder and feeding it down to the left side. Stupid me, I dropped the breather filter a few days beforehand on the ground and sure enough I damaged it. I had to use some gasket around the glue to make sure no air is gonna leak in. Nice piece of chrome and now no more worries about oil in the Thunder kit. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
