I would not recommend this Kuryakyn Shift Peg Cover since it is made entirely out of plastic. I installed it on my Honda Shadow Sabre and the second time I rode the bike it cracked and now must be replaced with something else. The installation was also difficult since it would not fit over the stock shift peg with the rubber cover in place. The instructions say to remove the rubber cover, wrap the metal peg with electrician's tape, and then apply super glue when slipping on the new shift peg cover. Did all that but it did not last!

Problem: the Sabre shift peg is round. This shift peg cover is square. You can't put a round peg in a square hole. Sure, it could be made to work, but after a week's agrivation, I took it off.

I have quite a few Kuryakyn items on my bike that I really like but I am not satisfied with this one. It is the Kuryakyn #4034 Shift Peg Cover for the Honda Shadow Sabre. It is a two-piece clam shell design. The set screw was totally frozen the first one I got so Kuryakyn sent me out an new one. The set screw would not go all the way in on the second one I got so I had to tap it out. It then worked OK but it just doesn't fit like it should even though Kuryakyn advertises it as a Sabre part! It does look better than stock and it feels better due to it's larger and longer shape. The rubber pads keep wanting to pop out of the top and I am sure they will rip off pretty soon. At that time I will cut off the factory peg, an tap it out for an industry-standard H-D peg.
