(4 stars) reviewed on 10/10/12 byJim Medlin (retrorascal) from Porterville, CA, United States, for a 2005, spec 3, candy red 1800 VTX1800R (Retro) wrote: Used these to mount the Transformer II floorboards. They have a nice chrome finish and seem to be working as they were designed to do. INSTALLATION NOTE: Though in most applications these will be mounted in the fixed position, I recommend the use of the spring steel washer to make for a tight fit (I only had to use 1 on each mount). It will hold the adapter tight and assist the set screws in remaining secure. Use fresh locktite, don't rely on the dab of dried locktite that comes on the set screws from the manufacturer. (5 stars) reviewed on 04/18/12 byVTXCruise (VTXCruise) from Aurora, CO, United States, for a 2002 1800 VTX1800R (Retro) wrote: I needed bigger passenger floorboards. I have Corbin Beetle Bags and that creates an issue. However with the following Kuryakyn parts KY-8818, KY-8837 & KY-4380 my problems are solved. The 4830's are the Transformer Series floorboards with a 2" extension. They look great, they work great, my wife LOVES the flip up foot rest. NOTE: We don't put a lot of weight on the front of the floorboard. We haven't had issues, but that would have to put a lot of torque on the splines and the mounts. The screws that are with it need to have more locktight applied when you install them, or else they will become loose. Due to the way the spines of the adapter and the floorboard on the left side of the bike mesh, they are a click off and don't align the board parallel to the ground. (5 stars) reviewed on 05/19/08 byChupacabra (Chupacabra) from Chicago, IL, United States, for a 2003 1800 VTX1800R (Retro) wrote: Very easy install. The instructions tell you to keep the original pin and any retention clips. Make sure you do! The only reason that I gave this a 3 on the install was because of the install for my VTX 1800 Retro. The adapter had to be installed rigid so that the passenger floorboards moved, not the adapter. There are two adjustment screws that you screw out so that the adapter doesn't move. The smaller of the two would not screw in all the way because of the Locktite that they included on the screw plus you have to use a very skinny Alan wrench which does not give you much strength to turn it. I cleaned out the Locktite and used the regular liquid Locktite and it worked fine. The larger of the two adjustment screws was fine. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful.
