I welded over the holes that this doesn't cover before I painted and it turned out great. Otherwise you'll have to leave open holes or patch somehow, and that will affect your finished look. I have pictures of the holes I welded on my profile here if you need help identifying which one. I had to guess, but got lucky and got it right. The light fits the contour of the V-star 650 fender perfectly, mounting it was no problem. It came with a license plate frame and light on the bottom that I removed. It looked like it would have scraped the fender if I left it on, but I went with a license plate relocation to the side. Since the mounts for that were tucked up under, it left a nice finished look with no visible mounts for the parts removed. Make sure you get the LED blinkers, as this light comes with the mounting holes. They were a pain to mount. The mounting bolt did not h... Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Also they don't give you much room to bolt up the turn signals. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Re-wiring was a pain too since the wiring colors didn't match and they had to be spliced to the harness. Looks great though. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Probably the best looking tailight assembly on the market. I purchased the larger bullet turn signals also. Looks great. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

I am having the holes filled and my fender repainted. Big cost for the right look. I love the tail light and would buy it again. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Since the new wires are not long enough to reach under the seat, I re-used the stock wiring harness with the bullet connectors from the stock lights. 1) Assemble the unit with the turn signals: note on turn signal installation --- you will need to cut down a 5mm allen wrench to fit in the tight space to tighten the signals onto the tail light. Don't forget some blue loctite on the signals. 2) Run all wires under the rubber gasket, and tighten the nut/washer to hold all wires in place. 3) Cut the wires down to about 4-5" long from the tail light assembly. From the stock wiring, re-use the male bullet ends, and solder/shrink tube them onto the ends of the tail light assembly. 4) Since the stock tail light does not have a separate wire for the License Plate illuminator light, you will have to splice the red illuminator wire into the red running wire --- you can splice into the red run wire directly... Easy fix though with chrome bumper bolts. Cleans up the back of the bike very well; however, the wiring harness does not fit the 650; different pins. You must cut and splice; however, it is an easy fix. Well worth it. Review Details 4 out of 4 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Will require some body work this winter as it leaves the 2 small screw holes and the 2 large wire holes exposed. Looks really good. Had to invert the plate due to it rubbing the bottom of the fender. Will add some spacers and flip it back around. Review Details 3 out of 3 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Got the small red silver bullets and it really cleans up the back fender.Ended up getting a friend to help with the installation but really pleased. One small bolt hole left exposed on either side(from factory "moustache" bar), but bought two 6mm chrome allen panhead screws that filled nicely.
