Easy install on the roadstar 1600. I did not follow the directions for wiring, but rathe tapped into the the wires under the rear fender versus going all the way back to the seat to tap in. Yamaha wire colors Ground: black Brake: yellow Running/license: Blue Left turn: brown Right turn: dark green Love the look...realy changes the rear end appearance of the roadstar

The stock rear lighting cluster is quite clunky, this is a great way to clean up the back of the Roadstar. Make sure you plan this upgrade out before you under take it. It is easy, but takes some time to do. Also keep in mind that this fixture is not grounded, you will have to run a ground wire for the Kuryakyn Halogen bullet lights that go with this. It was simple to add, but frustrating to take the fixture back off. Also, I crimped disconnects on the wires to adapt it to the factory wiring harness. The instructions say to run the wires all of the way to the battery compartment, but you will quickly see that they do not reach. One other thing to note, this WILL NOT cover the two mounting holes from the stock "moustache" signal bar. I plan on reusing the bolts, or adding small lights there to cover it up. If you like the way the light looks, you will love it on your bike!

the wiring harness could be 12 inches longer. I made a complete new harness. Instalation otherwise was simple, abour 3 hours start to finish with multiple refreshments. (to keep from getting dehydrated). The LED's are very bright.

Looks great...had the cobra set up and just changed. Really looks clean. The two holds in the fender that would be seen were welded up before the new paint.

Very nice Clean look. but if you want to add the license plate frame beware. The standoffs on this assembly that hold the frame on snapped off after about 800 miles. Thats why I cannot recommend this item.

The taillight with the amber silver bullet signals look great. I agree with the last reviewer. The cables are not long enough to plug in under the seat. The rubber gasket on my light was fine. I made a change that you might want to do. When you remove the stock taillight and turn signals, all of the stock connectors are under the fender. Do not cut these connectors, reuse them. Disconnect your battery or you might be replacing fuses. Get some bullet quick connects and place them on the new wire harness after you size the wires. Be sure not to cut too short. Also get some shrink wrap large enough to go over the new bundle. Place the shrinkwrap over the wires and them make all your connections. After testing signals, shrink the wrap over the bundle. Use the stock clips under the fender to hold in place. For extra moisture protection, use some moisture resistant gel on you electrical connections prior to shrinkwap. Some comes with your lighting kit. You can also cover the "uncove...

Probably no better looking light exists for my Road Star - especially with the silver bullets.. BUT... it almost wasn't worth the aggravation of installing the thing. And I'm disappointed in the quality of the product itself. The rubber gasket was malformed and one of the bolts on the back of the light was not secured properly which made it difficult to secure to the bike. Also, the wires do not reach far enough to get under the seat as they should. The instructions were horrible, and the Kuryakyn help line wasn't much better. It took three attempts to get it to work. DO NOT install without the load equalizer and have some extra 10 amp fuses at your disposal. Its a good thing it looks good on the bike or I'd be really pissed off. If there was anything else out there for my bike I'd go with the other one.
