I installed this tail light after having my rear fender customized and painted (this ain't no V-Star fender no more!). The OEM light bracket mounting holes will not be covered up by the Tombstone but there's many simple and easy work arounds this problem. Find something shiny or unique to put in the holes, either epoxy or JBWeld them in place. When I had the fender done, those two holes were not filled in as this light was an afterthought. But I put a couple of Air Force collar dogs over the holes which fits right in with the Air Force motif the bike is in. So don't worry about the holes, use your imagination to dress it up and make the bike even more personalized. The ONLY bad part about this tail light is that it isn't the brightest tail light out there.. Day time running my ride partners have a hard time telling if its me braking or the sun hitting the lens. At night, the run light is bright enough to be noticed but the brake light doesn't jump out to be noticed. And you kno...

Love it! Make sure you get the lights ( turn signals ) to go with it. A cobra licence plate looks very nice with this.
