I had to remove just over an inch and a half off the end of the small diameter end of the original. Very dissapointed to have to do this to a new Goldwing. My bike is a 2008 plated date of manufacture. Fortunately I am a plumber with the necessary tools and skill. However would have been expensive otherwise. Installed to bike, within 30 miles black diverter plate paint bubbled and had to remove and repaint with high heat paint. About 20 days later noticed chrome was bubbling. Sent memo to Kuyakyn and no reply so they are not into customer satisfaction. Have since removed the eyesore and replaced them with Show Chrome turn down pipes. The first release got so hot that the chrome blistered and flaked off. Buy these if you like the look but not for the "turn down function" because they don't divert the exhaust down as well as the Honda or similar brands.
