Very Stable, no vibration (of course on a Nomad you don't have any anyway) Somwhat difficult to adjust, somewhat difficult to install, wire to turn signal is TOO SHORT, I know this says for HD but you DO sell a metric adaptor...so put some more cable on it and people can cut if off if they don't need that much. I set mine up for blink only, no running lights. I found there was very little difference between running light and high, but it works very well if set up for on and off only. A bit high on price but quality of material is very good. (Other then the LED high/low thing). Install time would have been MUCH shorter if I was not trying to get the HI/LOW to work but finally settled on HI/OFF for blink. Review Details 6 out of 6 members found this review helpful. (4 stars) reviewed on 09/30/05 byMichael (rmbortman) from Coatesville, PA, United States, for a 1998 750 Shadow ACE wrote: Hardest part of installation was fishing the wiring through the existing harnesses. The wires are too short for metric cruisers, so added some 26 gauge from Radio Shack. After pulling wires and connecting them the LED's only partially lit. A call to Kuryakyn tech line informed me that full voltage was needed to fire 'em up. Since I had been testing wiring combinations with the headlight and driving lights on, my battery was low. A quick charge fixed that up. THANKS, Techs!!! LED's very directional towards front. When adjusted so I can see what is behind me, the LED's don't appear all that bright directly in front during daytime. Show up really well at night. Patience needed to adust and tighten mirror heads. Look really great, little shake, great field of view with convex glass. Review Details 5 out of 5 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 07/31/05 byJJ (trouten) from Willard, MO, United States, for a 2004 650 V-Star Custom wrote: Took off front turn signals and replaced signals with these. Did not wire up running lights to function, but wired up running light wires to signal wires to make them brighter. They look great and signals are bright enough even in the day time. The signals ran very fast, the electrical load leveler ( or what ever the hell its called) that came with it and is for HDs was installed and worked appropiatly and the signals then blink at a normal speed. A lot of vibration in the mirrors with high throttle but I"m not so sure that can be gotten away with from any mirror when you have after market pipes and the Julio Slam which increases vibration tremendously and makes suspension very tight. Over all looks fantastic and its great to have the stock signals off, really cleans the bike up. Little pricey though. Review Details 3 out of 3 members found this review helpful. Once fitted (requires a bit of effort and a drop of Locktite) they work very well. First pair came with poor quality mirror on left side. Kuryakyn replaced ASAP. Second pair has been great for the past year. I don't have any issues with vibration. Review Details 2 out of 3 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 09/21/04 byFastpaul (fastpaul) from Staten Island, NY, United States, for a 2003 1500 Vulcan Mean Streak wrote: Installs OK but the wires are to short to get to the signal connection in the headlight. I added extra 22 gauge to the original wire, soldered them together and fished them through the original shielding and made a small hole for the wire to exit the loom. I exited near the headlight and shielded the wire to look neat into the headlight area. I then soldered the wires into the feed side of the loom so if I wanted to, in the future to disconect the signal lights I would be able to just unplug the stock connector. Other than that they look good and are very sturdy. I just wish the signal light was a little briter. When you hook them up for signal and running lights the signal suffers. If you don't hook up the running lights the signals are very brite. You have to make a choice of which way you want them. Review Details 5 out of 5 members found this review helpful. (4 stars) reviewed on 05/25/04 byMike (mjberry) from , , for a 0 800 Marauder wrote: These look much better than the stock mirrors. I find they provide an adequate view but it does take some adjustment to get them in the correct position. On the install you will need to extend the wiring because these are set up for Harleys and don't provide long enough wiring for most metrics. Combined with the Kuryakyn lightbar they look great and make it easier for people to see your front signals since they are up high. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. (4 stars) reviewed on 04/10/02 byJj (Jj_vtx) from , , Americas, for a 1800 VTX1800C wrote: Great look. These mirrors enchanced the sharp look of the bike. I like LED turn signals as well. Mirrors are broader then stock ones, so I have better view what is behind me. There was a loose screw in one of my mirrors. So I had to disassemble them and fix prior to mounting. Addapters are required to fix them to VTX. I applied a drop of Locktite to the threads of the adapters to prevent mirrors from getting loose.
