For ’06 we’ve completely revamped our Twin Velocity air cleaner from front-to-back to drastically improve performance. Still using the high flowing K&N air filter and vented air deflector system, keep your high velocity air stream flowing smoothly down the main air column for excellent cylinder fill and increased power. Check out our new design features that make this V-Twin looking air cleaner now flow even better.

New Features for Increased Air Flow...
- Additional slots on both sides and enlarged openings at the bottom to allow more air to enter the sides of the filter.
- End Breather Technology - We added a large, round foam filter element beneath the teardrop center cover to allow filtered air to enter the end of the filter.
- The revised teardrop center cover provides larger slots for improved air flow and a cleaner look.

All these improvements add up to improved air flow and greatly improved power potential.

Note: These kits contain an all-chrome Twin Velocity Plus, mounting kit and carburetor jetting necessary for a complete, sanitary installation.
- Jet kit includes #175, 182.5, 185, 187.5, 205 Main Jets (See installation instructions for complete list of components included)

Question & Answers:

    hissing sound after installation?

I installed this item on my 2010 Road Star yesterday.  Upon restarting the bike the new airbreather was making a hissing sound easily audible even with the engine idling.  I know this breather is designed to suck in more air but is it normal to make this sound or should it be just as quiet as the stock breather....thanks for any info you can give me

Good choice, Brian! I have the Fi2000 PowrPro as well on my Road Star. and I'm happy with the way everything runs. When my bike was on the dyno, I told the operator not to blow it up. At a little past half throttle, he shut it down and said, "100 foot pounds of torque; that's some serious giddy-up!" Enough said!

I've got Cobra Speedster Swept exhaust on it and I've also got a Cobra FI2000 PowrPro so it re-mapped itself. I double checked everything like you suggested and it's all ok . You're right...it sounds like a vacuum cleaner but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I'm sure liking the increase in acceleration....thanks for all of your help...I can now rest easy and enjoy!

    Howdy Brian,
Dan is correct - make sure everything is seated and tightened up correctly just to be certain. But yes, you will hear the air! I have a Road Star 1700 as well with a Big Air Kit on it and it sounds like a vacuum cleaner (I don't mind it). Not only do the OEM filters allow less airflow, but the OEM housings muffle the sound. If you recall, the original housing had just that small square opening to let air in. Don't sweat it, before long you won't give the sound a second thought.

Also, what exhaust system are you using and have you re-mapped the fuel injection?
