(5 stars) reviewed on 08/28/09 byJeff Roy (jlroy) from Wetumpka, AL, United States, for a 2009 Candy Red 1600/1700 Road Star wrote: Wonderful accessory. Easy to install; I ran the wire under the gas tank and attatched to battery after mounting the power point to the handlebar to the left of the bone. This is a well made and great looking piece. (5 stars) reviewed on 08/15/09 byBrian Chace (BrianChace) from Frederic, MI, United States, for a 2008 Cobalt Blue 1600/1700 Road Star wrote: Great product. Even comes with cigarette lighter. Two-axis pivot mount means you can mount it just about anywhere on your handlebars, and the cable plugs in to my existing Battery Tender battery charger harness. I use it to charge my cell phone and run my tire pump. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

I use it as a plugin point for my GPS but the lighter works well, too. I have one concern about it: I don't think it would be a good idea to use it for both a lighter and a power point because the heat of the lighter and the ash left stuck to the lighter will eventually deteriorate the electrical contacts inside and make it less reliable as a power point. I would suggest one usage or the other but not both. One installation suggestion would be to slip a piece of UV resistant vinyl sheathing over the wiring to keep the insulation from possibily getting brittle and cracking due to a lot of sun exposure.
