They are chrome plastic and to me anything plastic is worth only about half of what they charge, but .... I bought another set to put on the rear speakers, since I had the Kuryakyn rear speaker covers and these fit right to them. Look better in the rear since they are easier to see than the ones up front. The value I placed on them in the review is compared to the HD ones. They may have better 3M tape than the HD ones also.
