Is it a big job to fit it on a RSTD 97?
Can I had baffles if it sounds to loud?

Thanks for the info. When I will store it for winter, I will take off one pipe and mesure it.

So he "thinks" it's 1.5". He didn't have one on hand to measure for me unfortunately. He did say it's the same as the stock pipes on the '05-'09 Royal Star models though, which makes sense. Hopefully that'll help you

I'll see if I can get some measurements from our guy over at LA Choppers. I'll be sure to get back with you

I think the big problem with the old generation is that the muffler comes in one pi├Ęce. So you have to cut it and find a clamp for reassembling. And that's the reason why nobody wants to get involved. I already got that mod So my only problems are diameter and attachments. I know I can make a bracket to attach so.

I don't think they are. The guys at Baron's/LA Choppers do a lot of extensive R&D for their products. If they only specify those years for fitment then those are all they'll fit. I can almost guarantee you they have tried them on the newer models as well. If you want to find out diameter size on both generations that's a bit of research you'll have to do. Or you can order them in and try them and see what you might have to do make it work. I wouldn't recommend doing that though unless you're well equipped to make modifications.

Can you tell me if the diameter is the same for both generatipn?

      Good day,
I'm sorry to say, these are only designed to fit '05-'09 Royal Star models. I'm sure it would be a pretty good job to fit them to a 1997. Some kind of fabricating and modification would surely be required, I just couldn't tell you what mods would need to be done. This is a common question, and the short answer is yes if you want prolonged engine life and no backfiring. I have just ur slip ones on my 1100 Vstar and haven't rejected yet. I get a little backfire on deceleration which I would expect. So far it runs ok but I won't be running it like this for long
