(3 stars) reviewed on 02/05/06 byGarry (gjblackjack) from Bend, OR, United States, for a 2005 2000 Vulcan wrote: I added black plexiglas stiffeners to the inside of the bags when I mounted them on the EasyBrackets. I also made aluminum stiffeners for the inside of the lids and attached them with heavy duty velcro. In addition, I had the inside edge of the lids trimmed downed at a local leather shop so I could mount the bags lower on the EasyBrackets. The bags hold a great deal of equipment/clothing but are a little flimsy. I plan on adding more stiffeners to the bottom and opposite side. I am also going to have more Velcro sewn to the outside lip of the lid to secure it a little better. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? (4 stars) reviewed on 08/18/05 byRonald (ronaldg) from Campbellton, NB, Canada, for a 2005 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: Bought these second hand on the accessorie exchange.. They are HUGE!! I don't really like the look , but if you plan on traveling these are great. They are large enough to carry a spare helmet, jacket, chaps and a rain suit and that is only one side. They are well made and the contents will stay dry. The sides tend to distort a bit when they are emptybut they are better than most. If you want to use your bike for touring these are a good investment. Review Details 7 out of 7 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

They tend to sag in the middle. Luckily i was able to reinforce the inside of the bags in my shop. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? (4 stars) reviewed on 09/27/04 byDennis Welch (D-Train) from Bend, OR, US, for a 2006 1800 VTX1800C wrote: These bags are HUGE! I only put bags on my bike when I go on trips so when I need bags, I NEED BAGS! I used them with Easy Brackets and a Hondaline backrest and the only thing I would recommend you do with these bags is double reinforce the backs of the bags. Since the bracket is only about half the size of the back of the bag, and these bags can hold a LOT of stuff and therefore get pretty heavy, the back of the bag bends as the bags try to pull away and down from the bike. To keep them standing up straight you would need to add more strength to the backs of the bags. The backs of the bags are plastic but it's flexible plastic and not thick or rigid enough for the size of these huge bags and the weight of the contents they can hold. Using them is very convenient and they are easy to get in and out of. The leather is VERY thick and high quality. Ledrie is the manufacturer in Europe that makes all of the OEM saddlebags for a lot of the european bike manufacturers so you KNOW these guys... Should be able to hold everything I want to carry. Due to the size, they do tend to somewhat colapse in at the top of the bag however the velcro closure helps to hold everything in place.
