I got these this week and finally put them on. I'm taking them off soon. The put your feet a little more forward but not much. I'll go with John's Kit. The instructions for these things were the worst. A very small picture and bad directions.

Fit and quality are good. For Volusia model, only moves pegs 2" fwd & 1" out. Just a little improvement over stock. Go ahead and buy forward controls.

I agree with the others who said the instructions were a pain. Its just a few pictures and very vague instructions. However, if you orient the extension according to the picture in the instructions, installation should be a snap. The brake switch adaptor plate only fits one way, there are indentation where the original frame bracket rests in. Once I had the extentions oriented from left to right ( again use the photo on the instruction sheet) installation was a snap. I did have a little difficulty screwing in the new shift linkage adjustment piece. The threads were kind of rough requiring to use a thread cleaner/restorer to make the job easier. All in all, I had both sides installed in less than an hour. Wish I could get another inch or two, but the new postion is great. Product is far cheaper though not as trick as complete forward control kits at $500 a pop for the same amount of extension. I tihnk its great!

I found the mod very easy to install. I was shorted 2 lock nuts, which I ran to the hardware and got. Other than that no problem. I rode 150 miles today. The new positon is great.

Instructions are difficult to understand, found a lot of help on "Volusia Owners League". After some "tweaking" on both brake and shifter side everything is working well. Better position for my long legs, but wished they put the footrests even further forward. Finish and stability very good.

ok, we got these and once we got them on - they are great! bought them a few months ago and just got around to putting them on the bike. First of all, the instructions to install totally totally SUCK. We had to go to the Volusia Owners League website & post for help to put on the brake side - after a few responses, we were able to get them on, finally. My husband was about to ship them back as a waste of time/money. Suggestion to Lightning Performance - redo your instruction sheet.

Sloppy machining and brakes did not work correctly after the install. Removed as soon as they were installed. If not you don't want to use the rear brake these are the controls for you.
