Low and Mean offers the combination of our Low seat pan & foam for the V Star 950. This combination gives you the chance to build your own style seat, whether you're looking to add more foam or take away foam, now you have a great starting point to build it yourself. We all know there are Upholstery shops all over the world, so giving you a starting point to work from will help you create a finished product for a good price. Our foam has a very good density, which is designed to offer the best comfort and keep water out if you get caught in the rained. We design our seat foams to keep the lines from the gas tank to the rear fender. Our seat pan foam is 2.25" thick which is .50" thicker than the stock foam which is 1.75" thick. With the combination of the seat pan and foam you can take it to your local upholstery shop to have a custom cover made or we can refer you to our upholstery shop. If you plan on removing the rear seat you can add 4 custom chrome caps for and additional $10.00.
What you need to know:
•The 4 chrome caps are meant as a simple fix the front 2 will snap in with just a little bit of silicone holding them in place but the back 2 caps will need a little extra silicone because of the recess's in the fender. A few other options you can do is paint the 4 bolts and screw them back into the fender or get some custom chrome caps that will attach to the bolts.
•This seat pan and foam combo does come with the seat bracket attached and Velcro to secure the rear of the seat to the rear fender.
•For this Low seat pan combo to fit you must remove your tools and holder, nothing should be on the battery.
•The seat / foam comes with a open cell foam. We use a protective glue to bond the cover to the seat foam, but this seal is not water proof but water resistance. Please have caution when washing your motorcycle, driving in heavy rain or leaving your motorcycle in the rain for long periods of time. If necessary you could drill 1/4" holes in the bottom of the pan to help drain any water.
FAQs
•How does this compare to my stock seat pan foam ?
We changed the shape and height of the seat pan foam for more comfort and style.
•Will this still work with my passenger seat?
Yes, but for a cleaner look you can remove the back seat and you can add 4 cool custom chrome caps for an additional $10.00
•How does the back of the seat lock down?
We used an industrial duel lock Velcro on the back under side of the seat pan with another piece of Velcro attached to the rear fender and on the front of the seat pan you will still be able to attach your stock locking bracket so you can still lock your helmet down.
•Can i put any kind of seat cover on this?
Yes as long as the cover is made to fit around either our foam or the custom foam you will have made for your seat pan.
•Can i staple into this seat pan?
No fiber glass does not receive staple well we usually glue our seat covers to the back side of the seat pan.
