Instructions are for several bikes...you have to figure out what works for your setup but really not difficult. The biggest problem is getting the nuts on the upper bolts. I also added my own lock washes to them. Looks nicer on the bike than is pictures. Shaped nice. fits perfectly. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

They go on quite easily. After I put on the highway pegs, very nice. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(5 stars) reviewed on 10/24/09 byCharles (primalgeek) from knoxville, TN, United States, for a red/silver 1999 1100 Shadow Aero wrote: I think this guard looks better than the other options and I love it. However, it was a real pain the ass to install, I had to take the exhaust loose and had an exhuast leak afterwords, that took a full day of driving around to find the parts to fix. I was extrememly frustraited while trying to install it. However, it was well worth the trouble, it makes it so much more comfortable to ride, with the footpegs attached of course :) Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(5 stars) reviewed on 10/15/07 byTom (tlambmd) from Abingdon, MD, United States, for a 1998 1100 Shadow Aero wrote: Instructions were not written for my bike. Figure it out for yourself and save a good bit of time. Holes/connections lined up very well. I only used one of the larger spacers for the back bolt on the brake side foot rest and the nuts and bolts for the top connections. Getting the nuts on the inside took a while but just stick with it. It took me a while to pull the trigger on this one because I really like the look of the bike without it. Wanting to add highway pegs and being able to stretch out finally won over. I like the look of the MC guard vs the Cobra because it follows the contour of the front exhaust pipe and doesn't extend out as far. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. (5 stars) reviewed on 08/24/07 byDavid (dgasca) from 1609 W. Nopal Ct, AZ, United States, for a 2002 1100 Shadow Aero wrote: It looks good but directions where crap. I tried to use them but it seems like they where written for a bike with peg or forward controls and not floorboards. But only after about 30 minutes i threw them away and got it done. There are other reviews that describe how to install it. I should have read all the revies. But over all I am happy. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 08/01/07 byPete Hofferman (phoffer961) from Milford, CT, United States, for a 1998 1100 Shadow Aero wrote: Very nice bar, however the installation is tougher then you think! Mounted this on my 1998 Hondas Aero and it took a couple of hours and two guys! The holes line up perfectly, however trying to get the nuts on the upper bolts is very trying. There are no lock washers included, so you need to pick them up yourself. The space behind the upper bolts is so small, I had to use sticky tape on my finger to get the lock washer and nut on. I then had to get creative when it came time to tighten the bolts. I gues if you take the gas tank off or the radiator, it would be a breaze, but I didn't want to do that. Now that they are mounted, they are very nice!! Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
