Followed the directions from one of the reviews and I had the engine guard on in about an hour. MC has also apparently changed the hardware that now works with the bike. Looks great and very good quality.

I think this guard looks better than the other options and I love it. However, it was a real pain the ass to install, I had to take the exhaust loose and had an exhuast leak afterwords, that took a full day of driving around to find the parts to fix. I was extrememly frustraited while trying to install it. However, it was well worth the trouble, it makes it so much more comfortable to ride, with the footpegs attached of course :)

Instructions were not written for my bike. Figure it out for yourself and save a good bit of time. Holes/connections lined up very well. I only used one of the larger spacers for the back bolt on the brake side foot rest and the nuts and bolts for the top connections. Getting the nuts on the inside took a while but just stick with it. It took me a while to pull the trigger on this one because I really like the look of the bike without it. Wanting to add highway pegs and being able to stretch out finally won over. I like the look of the MC guard vs the Cobra because it follows the contour of the front exhaust pipe and doesn't extend out as far.

Had this on the bike untill I went with new V&H pipes, then I removed it. I actually like the look of the bike without it looking back. Was a nice product but I luckily never has the chance to test it out

It looks good but directions where crap. I tried to use them but it seems like they where written for a bike with peg or forward controls and not floorboards. But only after about 30 minutes i threw them away and got it done. There are other reviews that describe how to install it. I should have read all the revies. But over all I am happy.

Very nice bar, however the installation is tougher then you think! Mounted this on my 1998 Hondas Aero and it took a couple of hours and two guys! The holes line up perfectly, however trying to get the nuts on the upper bolts is very trying. There are no lock washers included, so you need to pick them up yourself. The space behind the upper bolts is so small, I had to use sticky tape on my finger to get the lock washer and nut on. I then had to get creative when it came time to tighten the bolts. I gues if you take the gas tank off or the radiator, it would be a breaze, but I didn't want to do that. Now that they are mounted, they are very nice!!

I wish I bought the Cobras. The MC Enterprises aren't shaped as well and the instructions are absolute garbage. When I say this, I don't mean they're confusing, I mean they're useless. They say to reinsert bolts that were never removed. They say to fiddle with the left floorboard, which has absolutely nothing to do with any of the mounting points. I think it has bits and pieces of instructions from other bikes. There's even half a sentence on there that makes no sense. Hard to believe it was written by an American company. I called and they confirmed that I had the latest version of the instructions, so no improvements have been made. One reviewer gives good tips to get the job done. I followed his instructions and it eventually worked. Also, if you plan on having lower deflectors they won't work with these guards. The guards slant forward and the lowers crash into them when you turn sharply, greatly reducing your turning circle at parking lot speeds.

This engine guard looks great. Had a little bit of difficulty with installation. Getting the bolts to line-up took some doing. Now that it's on, I'm very happy.

(Install notes below) I really like the looks. I know the Cobra ones provide more protection, but they are too wide and clunky for my taste. These look good and with attached foot-pegs will protect my engine and tank where most falls take place...at a stand still. Hey, if you put the bike down at speed, ain't no bar gonna help. Installation issue: Changes in the design wanted me to remove my entire exhaust system to install. To avoid that, I turned a lower mount hole into a U (as previous models had).

Was nervous about installing this after reading all the reviews. Fortunatly it went on much easier than expected. Forget about the instructions, might as well toss `em. Start by lining up the gaurd in place and put the top bolts in first, DONT TIGHTEN YET. Definitley get some lock washers for these, because you`ll never get a wrench in there to hold the nut as you try and tighten them. I had some 5/16 that I used. I used some two sided tape to stick the nut to my finger so I could get it in place (that was proably the trickiest part of all) After that the bottom bolts lined right up and I was done. No removing anything like the instructions said. So, all in all, looks good, easy install, hopefully wont find out if holds up in a fall with that single bolt design on the bottom, but I wouldn`t bet on it. Good Luck!!!
