A few days ago I was wiping it down and found a strip of chrome on my rag. Upon inspection I found the bar was broken about a half inch from the support where it mounts to the radiator bracket. Evidently it was a stress crack and the bar was completely broken. I have never laid the bike down or any extra pressure put on the bar except for footpegs. I am now opting for 2 piece engine guards. It doesn't make the Aero look small, rather compliments it. Not the same as on the picture, but easy to install. I would be careful with the top screw near your radiator. The flange does not thread completely. I stripped mine putting on a chrome face for the radiator. If you follow through with the install it will be fine. I added some foot rests to the outside curve for added foot placement. Way cool and comfortable on long rides. I ride about 70 miles each day. Very easy to install. I had it on in about 30 minutes. Installation was simple even for one person, directions were easy to follow. These give the bike a bigger appearence and added safety, can't wait to add some hightway pegs to them.
