First lets talk about the mounting brackets on the VTX-R/S; the 2 mounting brackets (MB's)go in-between the fender, and the main fender holding brackets (Or Bezil), so loosen the bolts alot, removing the one's that will go thru the MB, by hand pull (Two person job) the main fender bracket away from the fender and be very very careful not to strach your paint, which is very easy to do as this is a tight fit until you get it into place, and the bolt holes lined up. I got the rear rack at the same time, mounted all together, be careful! When I put my travel bag on; the angle of the backrest bars were too narrow for the bag to fit right; purchased square tubing that fit into the brackets, had a top tube cross bar welded on, and the bag now fits great, resting on the rear carrier. Unless traveling I leave the backrest off the bike. Without the backrest the brackets would be gr... Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

The brackets fit inside the fender mounts; this makes installation more complicated but looks better (in my opinion) than other brackets that mount over the top of the fender mounts. I would like the sissy bar more if it didn't wasn't so perpendicular to the seat. It would look better if it laid back a little, and it would be more comfortable for my wife, too. (4 stars) reviewed on 02/24/05 byKen Skinner (SilverFoxx) from Winder, GA, United States, for a 2003 pearl white reflecting blue 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: I replaced my "custom world" sissy bar with this one. I had the rear fender off for painting so it went on easy enough. Sorry but Honda Line had this one better priced than here. Also the best luggage rack is not listed here or on Honda Line. Hope it ok to review it here in this space. Much Much better than the "delux listed on this site. Honda Line site does not list it. It connects to the four bolts that attach the back rest to the Mounts. If you notice in the pictures of the delux here and on Honda Line the delus usess the passanger seat bolt to mount up top then to tag brackett. No way should you use that one. Call Cruiser Customizing for the one thats not listed. They will need to call MC Interprises for the best one. It listed for $82 from them directly. I busted a bolt overtorquing but all in all a nice add. Review Details 0 out of 1 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
