I was getting a lot of air coming up under the windshield over the sides of the tank. If I placed my palm out, there was a lot of air pushing up. It almost felt like it was lifting my arm. Okay that's a bit of an exageration. That air ended up hitting me the face and chin. The lowers eliminated most of that air. Now I ride most of the time with my visor up even and 70+ MPH as there is so little wind. Based on oathers' comments here, apparently not everyone has had such a positive experience. If, however, this description seems to fit you, i.e, strong air coming up around and over the sides of the gas tank, I would strongly recommend getting these as soon as possible. Installation was pretty easy. Just play aound a little with them. The metal tabs/extensions go up. Then the lowers come within an inch or so of the bottom of the windshield. I will not ride without and the had buffeting is gone. My dealer installed them on the lower forks instead of higher up...they work better and have no interference with lightbar and engine guards..
