I haven't done any long ride with them since I got them. I'm not a huge fan of the fact that they will potentially block my hypercharger. But I'm going to give 'em a try next long ride. I can say it's nice not to get so wet when getting caught in the rain. UPDATE: They really do drastically reduce the wind coming up--but it's a double edged sword. Although you get substantially less buffeting and remain very dry in the rain, if you're riding when it's hot and you've got a big windscreen/faring, you've reduced the wind to almost ZERO and it can get real hot, real fast in the summer time. When I was out on a trip I had to take them off because I no longer had any wind to cool me down with my gear on. But I'm seriously considering getting a pair for my "new" Valkyrie (if I don't get the backrest seat from Mustang) only because the reduction in win... Review Details Was this review helpful to you? These fixed that problem. I installed mine with the concave side out (backward) so that they wouldn't bump my cobra freeway bar. They still touch at wheel lock, but just barely. Be sure to get the mounting brackets and be sure to verify what type of forks you have (covered or not covered) makes a difference with the mounting brackets. They really should sell the shades and brackets as a package. You can not have one without the other. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

After installing I really didn't notice any difference. I tried adjusting to different areas but still saw no appreciable change. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

So they were very well worth it. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Simple to install and blocks the airflow coming up between me and the windshield. I didn't think such small pieces could make that much of a difference but they do. I agree the instructions were very poor and there were no decent illustrations. (More warnings and disclaimers than information). However, after a bit of trial and error the brackets and lowers fit great under the windshield and behind the stock turn signals. If the bracket "band" is mounted approximately 3/4" below the fork cross-brace, it will be impossible to damage either fenders or turnsignals. I did not buy the relocator kit. There is a slight decrease in wind buffeting, but I bought them mainly for rain protection and looks! Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 10/15/07 byretired (imretired) from La Mesa, CA, United States, for a 2005 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: Easy to install but tricky to adjust. It's really difficult to determine proper placement since the clamps allow you to raise and lower them several inches as well as rotate them around the fork. The turn signals on the vtx tend to interfere with them. Some pictures or diagrams suggesting the proper placement would have been nice. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful.
