These babies are the solution to a music starved rider who doesn't want the hassle and potential safety issues involved with putting music into their helmet. I couldn't see doing that, having wires running to my helmet, needing to "hook up" etc. Also, it seems to me to be a safety issue, I want to be able to hear anything I can of traffic around me. Anyway, these are plenty loud, the quality of the unit is very good, and the quality of the sound is very good. I have a memphis shades windwhield, I wear a helmet and find that I get plenty of volume at any speed. I think without a windshield, you may find the sound getting drowned out at high speeds. I use an MP3 player, actually at this point I am using the Ipod Shuffle, it is very convenient, and I was able to velcro it right near to my left thumb, so I can change volume, skip songs, repeat, etc, without taking my eye off the road, or my hand off the handlebar, very convenient. I paid a little extra to have the grille...

Awesome speakers for the size. They have good power and the sound is pretty clean coming out of my MP3 player. I have not tried them at highway speed yet, but others say you can hear them fine. I imagine you can.

Decent sound and the install was not that difficult. Almost took them off the bike after putting VH bigshots & hypercharger on. A month later I got the quieter baffles and life was good again. I don't wear a full helmet and the wind and road noise make it difficult to hear music at 70+ mph. Using IPOD for tunes.

Product included everything needed to mount on the handbars of my VTX 1800 C. Nice chrome units look great. Used Rattlebar's VTX schematic/instructions to find proper place to wire unit into headlight wire harnesses (key switched +12VDC brown wire on odometer WPC connector for VTX-C). Didn't add switch/lamp like MH Instruments instructions said to do since I only will run off key-switched power). Using an iRiver 180T MP3 player as the source unit, the sound is great! I would highly recommend these speakers to others, especially if you love music. Also, I would buy them again for another bike of mine.
