I have yet to take it for any iron butt challenges but it appears that the longer you're on it, the more comfortable it gets. In my ideal world, I would have it minorly reshaped. Well, I'd have it very much shaped to fit my butt exactly. In the absence of that, this is a very comfortable seat. I don't know how you could mass produce anything that would fit every different butt shape so all in all I think this is an excellent seat. Incidentally, my father in law put a Mustang seat on his Vulcan 1700 and he didn't overly like it. I rode his bike and loved it.
