My back used to bother me on rides as short as 50 miles. Now I can go 200 without any discomfort. I'm 6'3" and this seat does sit you even closer to the tank so I feel like I have less leg room. I intend to get some highway bars to help alleviate that on long rides - maybe some extended controls some day. Also, the backrest made me want to lean back even more and even though I'm above average in height I got riser extensions that pulled the bars back a bit. Now I just have to keep from napping on the road because it's so comfortable.

Got mine with the backrest. Makes all the difference in the world. A must have for anyone with back problems like myself. A little hard to install though. Had to cut the leather under the seat that was covering the holes for the back mounting screws. Also required the help of my neighbor who had to sit on it and squeeze together the back end of the seat just so I could get the holes to line up to get the mounting bolts in.

This seat is a major improvement over the OEM seat. It is much wider and much much softer. The initial install will be a little testy but with an extra set of hands it is pretty easy. Once you've installed the first time the holes will line up fine whenever you take it off. What I notice most is the lower back support that this seat offers even without the backrest. I also really love the ability to use it the seat as a solo or double seat. The backrest is also amazing because I can lounge on my bike while cruising. The leather is beautiful and the stitching is excellent as well. After riding many miles on the OEM seat and my rear going to sleep after 15 minutes this seat dramatically improves the ridng experience. This seat does move you closer to the gas tank but it's not a huge deal to me (I'm 6'1') but might annoy others as some reviews have stated. I would like to recommend to anyone who buys this seat to buy security screws to keep someone from removing your $600 invest...

Visit the Link at the bottom of my profile for more pictures. Big Improvement over the stock seat. Can ride for several hours vs 20 min. with stock seat. Love the backrest It comes in handy when it's windy out. And looks sharp as a solo seat for when I take the bike to bike/car shows. Love the look of this seat. Had a hard time installing for the first time as the holes did not align up correctly. After finally getting installed for the first time. Now it comes on and off no problem with no alignment issues. I guess the fiberglass pan needs to be flexed into shape. After it's on it holds the shape.

I've broken my back three times. This seat was not a luxury, it was a necessity if I was to continue riding. Took a 90 mile ride a week after surgery and that would not have been possible without the backrest support. Great product, good quality! Don't have to give up riding yet...

most excellent seat, i love it better yet wife loves it more. seems to push you forward but overall i would purchase another one. had a little trouble installing had to tweak seat mounts to get to fit right. called mustang about the problem they were willing to have me send it back and send a new one out at no cost to me. seem they really stand behind there products. overall real happy with it.

Wow....more than comfortable. I used to only be able to ride about 50 miles on the stock seat before I got saddle sore. Now, I could go on and on....I can't wait to go on a longer trip. But, 300 miles a day is no problem with this seat. You can't go wrong!!!!!!!

Love the comfort. The seat does change your ride hight & is wider at the fuel tank which could be a problem for someone with a short inseam. But for me, I'm in heaven!

Very nice seat. I had to send the first one back because of a tear it had from the factory. The second one was better but I am concerned with the area that the back rest fits into the seat. It seems that the tool they use to cut the hole in the lower seat to make the slot for the backrest to set into can possibly cut the seat. The second seat has a mark in the same place as the first seat had the tear but I guess it will work. Seems like an obvious problem in the manufacture especially for the price. Other than that, Seat is very comfortable. Can not wait till it breaks in. It has broken in. I LOVE IT... and the wife got off of the bike the first time and said, "THANK YOU" with a big grin. Enough said.

This seat is extremely comfortable. The old seat I had on my VTX 1300c was very hard and uncomfortable. Lets just put it this way, my butt went to sleep after 15 mins of riding. Now I dont have that problem The extra back rest doesn't give much support on the VTX 1300 c because of stock handle bars. If you are going to get this seat i would suggest getting different bars for your bike as well.

really, really nice seat 500, 600, or 800 miles in one day and you still feel like you just sat on the bike, a lot of money but worth the price! Only thing on a C model the back seat looks like a sofa pillow.

One of the two most crucial upgrades on any cruiser (the other being pipes!). This is my second Mustang seat. I had the same one minus the driver backrest on my previous Shadow 1100. What a fine seat!!...comfort, looks, and construction. Quality all the way! No comparison to factory seating, for driver and passenger. And the backrest is a savior to my lower back on long rides. I will never own a bike without a Mustang on it! Just wish I had found Cruisercustomizing sooner, I could have saved some money...cheaper here than buying direct from Mustang.

Have tried a number of seats and settled on this one...can ride pretty much all day. Backrest is a real plus. Really don't like the way this seat pushes you forward towards the tank.
