You sit up a little higher and it moves you forward a bit. After the 1st ride it was like sitting in the lazy boy, very comfortable. The rear seat also serves as a back support for the rider when installed. I rarely have the back seat on the bike. On long trips, I don't suffer from a sore butt, and have no back pain. This seat literally installed in five minutes. It is a night a day difference to the hard stock seat that came on the Honda Ace. It is a little wider than the stock seat and you sit a bit higher but I find it extremely comfortable. If your thinking about buying one, do it. You won't regret it! Allows you to feel what the bike is doing under you, the additional bonus is the added back support on longer rides really helps..even when I pull off the rear pad and ride "solo". As for passengers....my wife enjoys riding as well and she said that she much prefers the rear half of this saddle compared to the very uncomfortable stock pad that came on the bike. The bottoms of my thighs start to get numb after a few hours though. Much better than the stock seat. Definitely worth the $$.
