The fastener's used to attach the acrylic deflectors to their mounts are plastic. This allows them to loosen periodically. Don't replace them with metal fasteners. You'll end up fracturing the acrylic deflecters. I had to replace one because of metal fasteners. When I had to replaced one of mine I removed both and applied medium bond thread lock to the plastic fastener threads. I also ended up applying medium bond thread lock to the mirror mount threads. So far so good!

Very easy to install, readjusting the mirrors took a few minutes but was the hardest part. These are a quality product, which I've found is standard for National Cycle. They do keep some wind off the hands but I'm not sure now if they do enough for me to mess with. Probably would not buy again. I bought them to help keep my hands warm. Good/Heated Gloves are definitely the better means to that end.

Good product - but not as good as I'd hoped. I got these to help keep the cold wind off my hands in winter riding in Chicago. These helped only slightly. I had trouble mounting them around the throttle cables. This caused me to have them sticking out farther from the grips than I wanted. Perhaps that compromised the effectiveness - allows too much wind to whip around them and reach the hands versus deflecting the wind around the grip. They look OK on my C50 cruiser - not great, but not bad. I'm considering replacing these with Barkbuster Storm hand guards next year.

These deflectors are GREAT! Wonderful wind and rain protection, they really help to extend the riding season on both ends. Mine has even taken a direct bird strike and didn't even crack! My only complaint is that the mirrors have to be removed each time to install and remove the deflectors, but that is a minor inconvenience for the total benefit.
