The top metal strap had to be pried on with a flat head screwdriver. Be careful not to scratch your chrome. Also you need to test the clearance to gas tank prior to finish. Need to use care when installing clamps on the chrome upper fork tubes so as not to scratch them. The only issue to be extremly careful about is bracket placement because if they are mounted to far back when you turn the handle bars fully left and right damage could happen to your fuel tank. I like the availability of taking off and putting on the windshield at will without any tools. Great design. Note: Only issue is to make sure, when you install it, to tighten screws to spec.
