The whole "hose clamp" method doesn't look that great, and it would be nice if they slotted the brackets so that they fit flush to the forks. It can be a bit difficult to get the few threads that you need to get a bolt started, but if you put the clamp together before you put it on the bike, it helps bend the "hose clamps" so that they fit a little better. Calls for a light duty torque wrench. Since my motorcycle manual calls for specific torques on certain parts, it was a tool I needed to get anyway. When you first try to mount it, the bolt on the spider seems way too short when you place the mount cup on. I had to "tweak" the clamp strap and put a slight bend in it at the bottom of the largest spider mounting hole.
