I am the husband of the lady that wanted this shield and also the LUCKY soul stuck with installing it. This shield went on a 06 Sportster 1200C, I checked and it is listed to fit this bike. Harley must have changed something or I didn't understand the directions because this install was a bitch. I have been a mechanic for 10 plus years and I couldn't get this thing to fit right on this bike even after trying several different positions. The instructions said to place the supplied tape on the bars before placing the clamps in place. If you are going to install this shield you do need to do this because the clamps are molded just a little bigger than the bar in order to leave room for the tape. If you don't use the tape and try to tighten the clamp fully around the bar to make it seat then the clamp snaps. So use the tape. The lower mounts are held in place on the forks with hose clamps, I thought this was really kinda of cheap. Also the lower clamps use a “snap fit” rubber boot mounted ...
