I own a 2012 Yamaha v star 1300 tourer. You can use the stock windshield mounts but you will need to drill larger holes. The Yamaha holes are 3" 1/8 from center to center, the national lower holes are 3" 1/32. Place the lowers in a vice but be sure to rap the lowers in a towel so you don't mar up the chrome. Drill your holes. I also applied airline tape, (it's a protective clear rubber tape between the chrome lower and the windshield mount so as to not scratch any chrome. Once on they look great and function just as well. I rode from Bakersfield to LA, then to Palmdale back to LA then home to Bakersfield in strong winds over the vine. 40 degree weather. Their is almost no wind under the windshield coming up and blasting your face. The lowers also do an excellent job of deflecting the wind around your legs. My feet got a little cold but that's it. Do yourself a favor and get these. They are worth every penny.
