They did change the airflow behind my shield, but not dramaticly, I wear my reading glasses on a neck strap and they would blow right off my neck, and over my head if I didn't catch them at 40-50 MPH. Rode home with them on my neck and they didn't try to blow off, so they did change the airflow. Haven't hit the interstate yet so we'll see what happens there. Chrome covers behind the rollers that hold the 2 up windshield on the bike would not come off, finally 1 of them came loose, and was able to change the studs, but I was unsuccessful in ever getting the other side off to exchange to the longer studs. Existing studs on that side worked OK though. CC didn't have these listed for my bike, and when they showed up they said they were for a VTX1300, fit my bike perfect. They do look great!

These lowers were very easy to install, and they have reduced the helmet buffeting I was experiencing by about 75-80%. I'm 6 feet tall, and I have the big Switchblade 2-up windshield, but even with the lowers I still get some buffeting from wind coming over the top of the windshield. If I duck my head about 2 inches, the buffeting disappears completely. Overall, I'm very happy with the results. As far as looks go, I agree with other reviewers that the finish on the back side is a bit rough. I'm also still trying to decide if I like the looks of having these big chrome fins on the front of my vStar 1300.
