It does as described "keeps wind blast off your chest and deflects summertime bugs and debris." I'm only 5' 6” and I get a lot of wind buffeting around my head (at least more then I expected) so if you're taller you may want to look into the Shorty or the 2-up. I plan on getting the 2-up for long trips. When I would get on the Interstate before I would get into what I call "crotchrocket mode" and lay on the tank, it will be wind free when I do it now.
