Cobra Introduces Full Accessory Line for the Yamaha Star Raider

Camron Bussard talks about what Cobra has to offer for the new cruiser.

"The Raider is already a very popular bike among cruising riders," said Tim McCool, Cobra Engineering President. "The bike´s stylish design alone makes it a winner. Our new Swept Speedsters were a hit from the start, giving the bike an even edgier appearance and improved performance with torque and horsepower gains. Now the rest of the accessories give the riders even more options for personalizing their bike."

When it comes to providing protection in the case of an accidental tip over, the new fatty freeway bar and engine case guard give riders two options. The freeway bar is a traditionally styled bar formed from one and one-half-inch steel tubing that´s polished and chromed. The engine case guard provides a completely different look. The one-piece bar takes a minimalist approach, mounting to a custom Cobra bracket and offering protection for the foot-control area. This engine guard is curved from one-inch steel tubing that´s been highly polished then chromed.

Cobra´s passenger billet floorboards have been a must-have for cruiser passengers for years. Almost like standard equipment. The Raider now gets a matching set for the rider up front. Machined from billet (like the rear) with billet aluminum mounts, the swept design complements the swept lines of the bike and the swept exhaust.

The floorboards offer more comfort for the riders and passengers, while the backrest provides even more comfort for anyone perched on the rear pillion.

The backrest comes in three sizes: mini, short, and standard, each with a comfortable pad. And, owners have a choice of six chromed steel inserts or two billet aluminum inserts to finish off the backrest´s back side. Cobra´s luggage racks, available in formed steel or steel tube bolt right in place too.

"We wanted to offer Raider riders a selection of well-designed products to enhance the functionality, comfort and style of their bike," said McCool. "And these items, along with our billet caliper covers, do just that. They allow riders the opportunity to make what is already a distinctive motorcycle just that much better."
