2. CruiserCustomizing Tour update: Arizona Bike Week
Over 9000 miles and 6 weeks into the CruiserCustomizing promo tour, I arrived in Phoenix for Arizona Bike Week.
Since the last newsletter I went to Houston, where I stayed with Trent "Doktoreker" Reker. We went to Honda of Houston which offered free Dyno runs that day.
They dyno'ed Trent's VTX "Dragula" twice, after adding a K&N air filter his VTX gained 2 more hp. Not bad Trent!
Thanks again Trent for hosting me for almost a week, I had a wonderful time!
The next stops included Dallas to meet Bill "Bill1100", the host of the Shadow Riders Forum which we
featured back in Newsletter #14.
I also visited Al "Big Al" Wissinger, who hosts the HondaVTX.com site and was featured in
Newsletter #9.
From there I headed further westwards with another stop in Odessa to meet our Site Supporter
"Buddyman". She rides a white Valkyrie with a really nice
custom paint job.
From Odessa I headed straight to Phoenix for Arizona Bike Week. Arizona Bike Week runs from April 5th to
April 14th. There are numerous events and rides all over the Phoenix area. I'm staying with Dale, formerly known
as "AZredaero" who I met last year in the Bay Area. He rode his Aero from Phoenix to Northern California
to join us for a local ride to Alice's restaurant. This year he upgraded to a beautiful Candy Red VTX retro
which he loves a lot. Sunday we went for the "Ride with the Chiefs" organized by Indian Motorcycle of Mesa.
The sunset ride went through the scenic Sonoran desert with its colorful vistas, breath taking canyons,
and beautiful scenery. The run ended at Rawhide Wild West Town where all of the bikes
parked on main street for live entertainment, food and drinks.
I also had a chance to meet Rick Sheeley (greywolfen)
and saw his custom painted VTX - unbelievable! He'll be playing with his band this coming Friday.
There are many more rides during the week and CycleFest will start Friday, which
is part of Arizona Bike Week.
Uwe's next stops will be at Laughlin River Run which starts April 24th.
Please contact Uwe at uwe@CruiserCustomizing.com if
you want to meet him or join him on the way.
