1. International Motorcycle Show
Between November and March the International Motorcycle Show is being held all over the country to feature the latest and greatest the motorcycle industry has to offer. The first show of the season was this past weekend right in our backyard, so we all got on our bikes to checkout the new bikes and accessories.

Dennis "D-Train":
"I really enjoyed the show. The main reason I went to the show was to see all of the new bikes, and hopefully get to sit on the new Vulcan 2000. I got to check out and sit on the new big Vulcan and I was really impressed with the bike. I also really like the BMW K1200RS and am considering buying one of those instead of the Vulcan. I also got to see the other new bikes like the new Triumph Rocket III, which I wasn't able to sit on because it was on a rotating pedestal. The custom Yamaha Warriors and Roadstars were awesome! I also got to see the new VTX 1800N and 750 Aero, the new Marauder 1600 and Mean Streak 1600.
I also saw the new Buell XBR-12R which is a really nice looking (though uncomfortable) bike. I enjoyed going with Kenny and seeing him sit on a few of the new bikes as well. He has not been out of the house much since his bad accident in July so it was good for him to get out and have some fun for a change."

Kenny "Bearkiller":
"The Marauder 1600 is really a Mean Streak 1600, it's not a Suzuki. I tried to hop on the BMW K1200 RS but couldn't get my leg with the cast over the saddle. I love that bike.
Kawasaki did a great job on the Vulcan 2000. The engine looks great and the wrinked finish reminds me of older bikes where they did that too. I think the headlight is way too big. That 200 rear tire looks great.
The Triumph comes with an even bigger tire, it's a 240, but the bike was the uglies bike at the show. I also liked the new Victory Vegas models."

Al "Pizzaman"
"I had hoped to see more accessory vendors. I really liked the new VTX 1800 Neo-Retro model with the fenders that hug the wheels and the integrated taillights, that looks really sleek. I also looked at the Goldwings and my girl-friend would like me to get one. I didn't like the white or the red colors on the Wing, I just like black, it doesn't distract from the lines of the bike.
I'm in awe of the Triumph, it's like putting your legs around a rocket.
I did like the custom Roadstars and the Victories but I'm a real Honda die-hard and loved the looks of the Cobra custom VTX's, they look really slick.

Uwe "BIG UWE"
I'm in love with the new Vulcan 2000, this bike will be the king of the road. It looks massive and intimidating but is still very stylish. I was looking for a key, I wanted to fire it up! ;-)
I have seen the new Rune many times now but I still get fascinited by it every time I see one.
I took the opportunity to test fit all the helmets they had on display and I liked the Gerbing heated gloves. I talked to the folks at Hardkrome for a while, their VTX 1300 C cruiser with 240 rear tire is awesome and they had the new K2 exhaust prototype installed which is coming out soon. The colored street tires are wicked. Imagine laying some blue or red rubber on the road.
Compared to other bike rallies there was something for every rider.
Monday we met our Tucker Rocky distributor rep, he was participating in the Super Motar bike race. They were racing on dirt bikes with street tires on asphalt. It was crazy to watch them slide around the corners - on asphalt, not on dirt!!!

Bill "BPerrin"
"I went to the show Friday night after work when there are less people there. I was very interested in the touring bikes like the Goldwing but didn't like the white and red color of the Goldwing.
The Vulcan 2000 was very interesting and I liked the custom Roadstars. Arlen Ness' influence on the new Victory models is pretty impressive and the custom Cobra bikes looked great too.
There was a heavy emphasis on the sport bikes, a nice mix of disciplines, something for everybody."

Kyle "Gangus"
"The coolest thing was that all types of bikers came to the show: cruiser, sport bike, dirt bike and touring bike riders, shared passion, individual style! That was really neat.
The bigger, the better was the trend for the rest of the show. Every manufacturer has something big and bad to offer. I personally would like to see a 2500cc VTX one day.
The Motar race was great, dirt bikes with street tires that slide around the corner on asphalt, pretty crazy man.
I liked the Travelcade seats they had on display. The tricked-out Roadstar Warrior with long fenders was super cool, it didn't have an air box, just a velocity stack. Suzuki didn't have much to show."

Scott "PektusB"
"Wow, the VTX 1300 that Hardkrome had displayed was awesome. At first I couldn't even tell if it was a 1300 or an 1800. They fit a 240 rear tire on there and the fender was fat, it kind of looked like mine but different.
The $35,000 Roadstar with flames was sweet, I sat on it. I filled out the entry form to win the custom Cobra VTX Retro.
I also liked the tire exhibit, I could see all the different brands of tires and compare them, they even had colored tires."
