1. Riders Serving Riders
Greetings Cruisers,
Founded five years ago on the principle of “Riders serving Riders,” Cruiser Customizing has grown to a leading position in the world of service to the motorcycling community. Service. That’s who we are and what we do. No one enjoys life like motorcyclists, and a huge number of us also enjoy giving something back. It’s our way of saying Thank You for the full life we are so fortunate to enjoy as motorcyclists. For these reasons Cruiser Customizing has been an active force in the community serving charitable rides and events since our very inception. From rides for a cure for breast cancer, to supporting children awaiting adoption, to hospital-run programs, to runs for our vets of the Vietnam War, Cruiser Customizing has been there. It’s something that’s good for all of us.
The list of charities we’ve supported is substantial, and growing… We’re involved, so if your club or group is planning a charitable event, we encourage you to contact us with the details so that we can get involved in your club’s noble efforts, too. Just e-mail us with your information and we’ll do our best to make it work. We want to be there for you.

2. Second Annual Ride for Autism
|
Cruiser Customizing Supports "Ride for a Better Chance." If you register, please join the Cruiser Customizing Team.
|
The second annual “Ride for a Better Chance” will be held on Sunday August 20, 2006 in support of the California Autism Foundation. The three hour run will start from the Cruiser Customizing headquarters in Livermore and will end at the Foundation’s center in Richmond, California. Cruiser Customizing has helped raise over $10,000 for the autistic, money that will go directly to helping this great charity provide education, employment and housing to people living with autism. If you, or any rider you know, would like to participate in the Second Annual Ride for Autism, either directly or as a virtual rider, please get in touch with us. For more information, please Click Here.
Donations can be made either way, as a participant or as a virtual rider. Your support is valuable and 100% of the funds collected go directly to charity, not for administration costs. We appreciate your involvement. If you can join us for the ride on August 20th, it will be our privilege to ride alongside you. After all, whatever Cruiser Customizing has accomplished is because of you, our members. Thank you.

Cruiser Customizing’s luscious Kuryakyn Cruiser gets the big eyeball from attendees. Will you be the winner of this VTX?
|
Dateline: June 17, 2006, Livermore, California. Cruiser Customizing’s Open House Party brought together hundreds of riders, who took breaks from their week-end runs along the backroads of the Bay Area to join us for lunch. Fuddrucker’s catered the event, and the five dollar price of each plate went directly to charity. At the raffle, three Arlen Ness “American Legend” jackets and one Arlen Ness vest were awarded, as well as thirty Throttle Rockers. A Show Chrome Accessories gift certificate for $200 and another for $50 were also given away to lucky participants. Congratulations to all the winners!
Knowledgeable company reps came to the Open House Party in force. Many, many thanks to Val from Kuryakyn, Blaine from Cobra, Shane from Carroll Leather, Eric from Schampa, Mark from Parts Unlimited (representing Memphis Shades, Vance and Hines, K&N Filters, Metzler Tires, Dunlop Tires, ICON Helmets and Apparel, and Z1R Helmets and Apparel), Dave and Tom from Easy Brackets, Ron from Bell Helmets, and Tom from Travelcade/Saddlemen for sharing their vast knowledge and expertise with our members.
It proved to be a wonderful day of celebration, of great riding, rockin' music, abundant food and free downloadable photographs of the riders in attendance. Plus, thousands of dollars were raised to give back to our community. If you were not there, we hope that you’ll be able to attend next time.

Motorcycling and the quest for freedom go hand in hand. In fact it's safe to say that the motorcycle industry as it exists today was born from this quest and the wars that resulted.
WWI and WWII gave the biggest boost ever to motorcycling. They played a major role in the rise of motorcycling around the world. For me motorcycles would have to be near the top of the list of good things that grew out of war because they provide me and many others with a physical expression of the freedom and independence that soldiers around the world fight so hard for. Apparently those who know me would say that I wear my heart on my sleeve when it comes to how much I love my bike. That may be true. I have many riding buddies who have a bike, bought a second bike, traded in a bike, got another bike. My ride is one and only humble Yamaha V Star 650 Classic, that I have spent time (and will continue to) customizing it to fit and suit me and no one else.
In the beginning: My first bike was restricted by the 250cc max capacity for learner riders, before LAMS (Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme) came into effect in Victoria. I chose the Suzuki Intruder 250 LC. A great little cruiser bike that I was (and still am) attached to. I bought this bike with the thought that I would keep and ride it forever, because the size was extremely manageable for my small frame of under 5 feet tall. I was of the mind that I couldn't manage to ride anything bigger (read: taller, wider, heavier). Read More >>
