This lock makes me feel the bike is safe. It's very heavy, I carry it over my shoulder with the lock part at the top and I see bruises on my shoulder from time to time. The part that inserts into the locking mechanism has some very angular and sharp machining that will rip your paint or chome if it brushes across it. It's so heavy that I scratched the bike a few times before I learned to handle it. Treat it like a snake and hold it behind the head, if you are inserting it through chrome wheel be careful. I can't really complain about the weight, of course, but I do think it could be designed better to be a less damaging to scratchable surfaces. Best security I've had so far.
