Very good quality product with a clean OEM look. (doen't look jerry-rigged or add-on) The backlight pulses at idle. I think this is because the've tried to make the install easier by powering the light from the coil feed. (2 tach wires are connectined to the positive side of the coild per manual.) I will contact their support folks to see if I can just connect one of the power leads to a switched power source to resolve. Still, a great product. The manual says you can install with out completely removing the tank. I don't see how that's possible. I had to remove mine, but it's no big deal. Functional and made by Star riding buddies jealous as heck!

Fairly easy to put on if you remove the tank. I really do not like the back light as you can see the internal components blocking the light. Not a real clean look as it does not light up the entire circle. Kind of tacky in my opinion. I also do not like that the item is not fully assembled. You have to put the casing together and crimp all the wires. For the price you pay for this item it should come in a box ready to hook up without all the hassle of putting it together.

I installed this on my 2008 Road Star Silverado ,it was a perfact fit it looks like it was put on at the factory. The install took 30 minetes, and the directions were right on as to the wire colors of my bike . The tack is very smooth with no needle jump. This is a fine piece of gear.

Straight forward install. This is a great piece, well made and really looks like a factory install( which it should have been ). I would highly recomend it for anyone looking to add some distinction to their ride. On my 07 VStar the ground (orange lead) was a tad small and I had to shave a little off the piggyback spade so it would fit (with a dremel tool).

Great product, no needle bounce , looks great, even the shell or "can" is billet machined, very easy to read at night as is lighted too. Extremely well made.

I've ordered it, it just hasn't arrived. Its taken several weeks to fill this order. I just hope it works. I'm sure it will. I'll modify my ratings when I get the tach. I was informed by a member of the 1100 riders forum that this is backordered. I was not informed of the status by Cruiser Customizing. These guys used to be great at the speed they filled orders, but they have fallen down recently. Canceled order, so this is a review of CC rather than the item

Best tach made for the Roadstar, zero needle vibration, yet super responsive. All of the metal and chrome is top notch, even the tach bell cover

Easy to install. the directions were very complete and very easy. Its nice to finally know the engine speed, wish yamaha would provide a tach on the stock bikes. Looks cool mounted on the center of the handlebars.
