Improves riding position quite a bit, but despite reviews saying all original control lines will fit I found the choke cable was too short after fitting and had to be removed. Also the main brake line is very tight after fitting and ideally should be replaced by a longer one. Pillion complained about less space available for them after fitting, so maybe a consideration if riding 2-up a lot.

I agree with most on this product, however, there is one thing everyone is leaving out. The small socket that these mount into on the Roadstar has an ugly black washer that is a little too small to fill the entire hole and looks tacky once this riser is placed on top of it. You can replace that washer with a chrome washer from any decent hardware store that sells them. The Chrome washer I was able to find cost $2.50, fit and looks like it was made for it.

Nice look and great for bring the handle bars back to me giving that pressure off of my back from leaning forward to much. Had to move my clutch cable and splice extra wire for my off/on switch and starter switch and buy a longer 28 inch front brake line so that bars could swing from side to side without any binding in lines. over all looks good and feels great.

I like the way these risers position the stock bars up and back to a very comfortable position. Very easy to install, just had to turn wheel to extreme left and right positions to access the bolts. What i don't like: 1-the bolts provided do not fit through the cable bracket so you leave it off or drill it out. 2-the chroming is "soft" compared to stock and scratches very easy. 3-because they are tall and 3 piece rather than 2 there seems to a bit of twist at the risers. yes all bolts are tightened to speck. 4- although the riser legs appear to be round like stock, the sides are flat so expose the mounting washer, making it look not so good

Question & Answers:

    Need for Cables?

    I actually have two questions:

1.) would I need to get a longer set of cables to install this riser? If so, how much of a riser can I install before needing longer cables?

2.) the 1100 V Star I recently purchased, has a tac that's part of the chrome cover. I'm wondering if it would fit on top of these risers. Would it be possible to get measurements across and down beteen the bolts to see if it would line up?

    Thanks,

    Tony

I did wind up replacing the front brake cable with a longer one. All the other cables had enough play in them. The old tac would not line up with these risers, so I wound up purchasing another. The bike is starting to come together.
